Approaching retirement and considering living abroad. My wife is from the Philippines but I feel that country is to far away and a 3rd world environment.

Since i am from Fl. Panama seems a good choice. I read about all the good things about the country but feel that I am not getting any info on the negatives. Need to talk honestly with current expats about Panama. Planning a trip there later in the year.
